For many KFC team members, the restaurant becomes more than just a workplace—it’s a place of growth, second chances, and, sometimes, a lifeline during life’s toughest moments.

For Joshua, it’s been all of that—and more.

Joshua first joined the KFC family in his late teens as a dishwasher. Within three years, his strong work ethic and determination led him to become an Assistant Manager. He’s returned to KFC multiple times over the years, and in 2024, it’s where he turned to once again when life took an unimaginable turn.

Joshua’s home was destroyed in a fire.

“I was in desperate need of help,” he shared. “I had nowhere to turn.”

Two months later, he rejoined KFC and learned about the KFC Foundation’s Hardship Assistance program through the employee bulletin board. Facing the overwhelming task of starting over, he applied for help.

Thanks to the program, Joshua received financial support that helped him begin rebuilding his home.

“If it wasn’t for the KFC Foundation’s Hardship Assistance, I wouldn’t be as close as I am to completing my home and returning to it,” he said.

Though the journey hasn’t been easy, he’s filled with gratitude—and determination.

I just want to go home. I’m nearly there,” he said. “The Foundation helped lift me up when I was down. I hope you can continue to support others like me in their time of need.” Joshua’s story is one of strength, perseverance, and the power of community. It reminds us that when KFC team members face hard times, the KFC Foundation is there to ensure they don’t face them alone.
